The Gujarat Government has declared 2025 as the "Urban Development Year," emphasizing the state's commitment to transforming urban areas into vibrant, sustainable, and modern spaces. The declaration aligns with the vision of "Viksit Gujarat 2047," inspired by Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi's goal of "Viksit Bharat 2047." This initiative builds upon his bestowal, who had declared 2005 as Urban Development Year during his tenure as Gujarat's Chief Minister. The focus for 2025 includes upgrading infrastructure in Municipal Corporations, Municipalities & developing nine newly formed municipal corporations. These measures would accelerate Gujarat's growth trajectory toward infrastructure, housing, mobility, cleanliness, and urban services while ensuring improved living standards and infrastructure for urban residents, reflecting the commitment to public welfare and sustainable development.
